Water color pattern collection
For this project I explored various different pattern generating techniques using a single watercolored motif. I started by iterating several motifs that I could potentially use as the base for this print collection. I also wanted to explore various design principles like color, contrast, balance, emphasis, hierarchy, repetition, variety and unity. Once I had several motifs, I began creating various pattern iterations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Once I decided on which motif I thought would create the most dynamic potential patterns, I began to really explore how to create an innovative pattern collection. I had so much fun with this process and through allowing myself to play, I was able to come up with patterns I feel are very energetic and interactive. I even separated the motif into different layers to later create a hand screen-printed collection of posters.
