I ask you come to me ready to practice patience, trust, & welcoming in the transformation required for tattoos. Each tattoo session or ceremony beginnings with the burning of an herbal bundle. I choose from an array of herbs but primarily stick to mugwort, sweetgrass, sage or cedar dependent on the individual being tattooed. The bundle is offered as a prayer through the ascension of the smoke and intention of each tattoo. Each herb carries its own spirit medicine, whether it is to clear negative energy, call in protection, or strengthen communication to other realms. This is the time we get clear about the intentions you are setting for you tattoo.

I began as a handpoke tattoo artist, which is the traditional method of tattooing our ancestors used. I find this method allows more intimacy to build as it is a slower, gentler process on the spirit & skin. Handpoke also allows more room for imperfection as these tattoos are usually more “dotty” or textured. I am now using a tattoo machine in my practice to allow myself the space to create much larger pieces for folks that are more accessible. It is easier for me to achieve cleaner lines & shading while using a machine ~ this method is also the easiest on my body. I am so excited to expand in this area & will be prioritizing machine tattoos from here on out. Both methods are painful in their own ways - both being an initiation into holding space for your pain & moving through it. It is far easier to sit through the process once pain is expected & welcomed. I am here to accompany you, hold space for your transformation & to make the process as comfortable as I can. You can see both methods of tattooing below.

I believe that tattoos are living, enchanted symbols that channel the cosmic life force of the universe into the body. I love to help clients bring a vision or symbol to life that has been speaking to them. Each piece is designed specifically for its wearer and is not to be tattooed again. I believe that the ritual of tattooing is a sacred one of honoring your spirit, body, and the expressive energy carried within you & is a ritual of transformation & renewal.
